Life Update
People always told me "Once you have kids, you'll blink and they will be off to college!" Thankfully, life hasn't seemed to move quite that fast but it has moved FAST! I remember graduating from the Minnesota Institute of Ayurveda last June and thinking "Wow I have so much time on my hands! How ever will I fill it!?" And boy has my time been filled these past 10-ish months. To paint a picture, since June the following have been fairly major highlights in my life:
- June we started trying for a baby - thinking we'd be as lucky the first time and be welcoming a baby just 9ish months later. I started uploading yoga videos on YouTube!
- July we went to Camp Northern Lights! And I unfortunately got my period.. major tears and sadness for a day or two but the wood burning sauna at CNL really helped ease the frustration.
- August we went to Seattle to visit family and I turned 34!
- September marked the 1-year anniversary of Cynthia's passing, our 4 year wedding anniversary, a trip up north, and time with friends.. still no baby....
- October Aaron starting recording YouTube videos with his dad, my mom, Silas and I took a trip up north, I made our Halloween costumes (dragons!), I started nannying a little boy 2 days a week
- November Aaron left his job, a few days after that I found out I was FINALLY PREGNANT!, and it was the start of ALL. THE. SICKNESSES!
- Fast forward a bit to more sickness, a fun Christmas, more sickness, Aaron searching for a job, a friend staying with us for 3 weeks, more sickness, Silas turned 3, Aaron getting a job, a trip to Arizona, finding out we are having another baby boy!!!, finally feeling settled again in life and then after 2 weeks of calm-ish regular routine deciding to remodel our upstairs....
So lots of word vomit up there but at least it is organized in bullet point fashion, right?
But in all seriousness we are so grateful. We are grateful that we are expecting a healthy baby boy. We are grateful that Aaron found an amazing company to work for. We are grateful for our home (especially now that it has less carpet and I can breathe.. thanks allergies!). We are grateful for our family who have continued to love on us and support us through every stage of life. We are grateful for our friends and the community we have come to rely on, that fills our days with laughter and connection. We are grateful for our health and strong growing bodies. I am grateful that this pregnancy (like my first) has been very uneventful - no morning sickness, feeling strong and capable, going by sooo fast! We are grateful every day for all that we have.
Final-ish thoughts... I have taken a bit of a step back and away from Heartseed Holistic. I continue to teach yoga at North Oaks on Mondays and will do so until I feel like I need a break or until baby comes. I will be taking a maternity leave from One Yoga in June. I plan to resume my yoga classes in January 2026!
I have stopped filming YouTube videos but hope to put out a few more before baby comes. I am not sure what form they will take (yoga, meditation, talking head videos) but I did enjoy creating content in this way.
I have put a pause on reiki and Ayurvedic offerings and will offer sessions once again in January 2026!
I do have other projects in the works with a few of my Ayurvedic classmates - stay tuned for a summer offering tailored to female-identifying folks!
I hope to blog a bit more as I miss the practice of both personal journaling (like this) and knowledge sharing (like in my Ayurvedic and Yoga blog sections).
Stay tuned and if you haven't subscribe to Heartseed Holistic. Knowing I will never spam you with emails and only send out a few emails a year.
With love,
Anastasia
